BoltLinks Privacy Policy

BoltLinks (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.


1. Information We Collect


1.1 Google Account Info (OAuth)
When you first connect BoltLinks to your Google account, we request read-only scopes:

  • userinfo.email & userinfo.profile — to display your account email address and avatar in the extension UI.

We do not store your Google credentials or password, and we do not share your email or avatar with any third parties.

1.2 Google Sheets Data
After you authorize BoltLinks, you choose a Google Sheet. We read, via the Google Sheets API, the following:

  • Sheet metadata (ID and name)

  • Sheet rows (link titles, URLs, descriptions, categories)

This data is stored locally in your browser:

  • The Sheet ID and your starred-favorites list are saved in chrome.storage.sync (so your choice syncs across Chrome instances where you’re signed in).

  • The link rows themselves are saved in chrome.storage.local (kept on your machine only).

We do not transmit your sheet contents to any external server.


2. How We Use Your Information


  • Display your email and avatar in the BoltLinks panel.

  • Fetch & render your selected sheet’s links so you can search and copy them instantly.

  • Persist your favorite sheets and last-selected sheet across browsing sessions.

3. Your Controls


  • Disconnect at any time via the “Disconnect” button in the BoltLinks panel. This revokes our read-only OAuth token and clears all stored data (Sheet ID, favorites, link rows).

  • Revoke access manually in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps.

  • Uninstall the extension to remove all BoltLinks data from your browser.

4. Data Retention

All data is stored only in your browser. If you disconnect or uninstall, it is permanently deleted. We do not keep any backups or copies on our servers.
